Why Lamppost?
As a child, I loved reading The Chronicles of Narnia. Its pages filled me with wonder, and as I’ve grown, I’ve come to appreciate the deeper meanings woven into its stories.
One of my favorite scriptures is John 1:5: “A light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” Darkness is something many of us face, but if we search, there is always a light—a reminder of our purpose and a guide forward.
The story of the lamppost in Narnia reflects this beautifully. What was meant for harm became a beacon of hope for the lost. It shouldn’t have existed, yet it did. It appears at both the beginning and the end—moments of transition.
The lamppost marks the line between the old and the new. What better metaphor for counseling? Together, we can draw that line and light the way to hope and healing.
